REVIEW: TED TALKS ON FASHION

The different ted talks that I have watched talk about several fashion aspects. Some people explain different ways to make fashion morally fine or the disadvantages and issues that fashion really brings.

In the first video, Cameron Russel, a model, admits that being a model does not depend on you. She says that it is like a 'genetic lottery' that not everybody wins. She also comments the way the society judges by the way a person's look and not by who they really are.

I agree with Cameron Russel in some aspects. She explained how is it being a model and what you go through. I think that she is right when she says that she simply won 'a genetic lottery'. But, when she started to say and confirm how is the industry of fashion in real life and the advantages that she had since she was 16 years old I thought about one simple question. If she is not happy with how fashion works, why does she continues working on being a model?

In the second video, Jessi Arrington explains how someone can easily wear cheap clothes and feel comfy with it. She remarks that we do not have to buy expensive clothes from different famous clothes brands to feel good with ourselves. To prove that, she shows some outfits which she recreated with second hand clothes.

Here is the video of the Ted Talk she did:

THE CLIMATE CHANGE IN DRAWINGS

Zaria Forman's drawings show the beauty and the fragility of Earth. She travels around the world, mainly to the Artic, the Equator, Greenland and the Maldives. With each photographs and experience that she lives, she makes a painting to show the world how the climate change is affecting each part of our planet.

I think that the climate change is one of the current biggest issues of the human being. It is already happening and represents one of the greatest environmental, social and economic threats facing the planet.
The warming of the climate system is unequivocal, as is now evident from observations of increases in global average air and ocean temperatures. I read in a newspaper article that the Earth's average surface temperature has risen by 0.76º C since 1850.
The climate can affect every person and our health directly through increases in temperature. Such increases may lead to more extreme heat waves during the summer while producing less extreme cold spells during the winter. Actually, we start to feel that. It's November and the Sun still shines like if it's Summer. Also, people with heart problems, asthma, the elderly and the very Young can be especially vulnerable to extreme heat.

Most of the warming that has occurred over the last 50 years is very likely to have been caused by human activities. Nowadays there are so many factories that exhale really destructive substances and pollute the air. We all know very well that air is something we can’t live without. When we breathe the polluted air, we can get seriously ill.

Another huge problem is that the sea levels are rising worldwide. Also the expansion of ocean water is caused by warmer ocean temperatures...The temperature is rising which means all the mountain glaciers and small ice caps are melting faster and faster, just like Zaria Formans said. Zaria drew a few paintings where we can see the melting of the ice in Greenland and in the Artic.
She has also went to places which are dryness. People from Africa, for example, can not cultivate plants because the dryness don't allow it. That is why they die from malnutrition; they can not get food from anywhere. Once again, they are suffering from a fact created by the pollution that we create.

As a conclusion, I think that as the responsables of this problem, we should take responsability of it. The autorities should start to make changes to slow the efects of the climate change, considering that it can not be stopped now. If we don't make any change, we will end up like the third world. Zaria does such a good work. All of her drawings, apart from being very beautiful, original and impressive, reflect very good the issues that the climate change brings.

You can check out the Zaria Forman's Ted Talk where she talks about her drawings and the climate change.

THE SCHOOL SYSTEM

A few days ago, I saw a video by Prince Ea where he criticates the school system in general. Prince Ea is a famous youtuber known for his motivating videos about life, death and other topics. The following video gained me a lot, because, largely, I was agree with it.

In the video, Prince Ea explains the issues that the current school system has. On the hand, he starts to explain how the students feel useless sometimes because of the way they educate him. On the other hand, he illustrated how the working of a class has not change throughout history. He adds that this education system treats the students as equal when in real life, each student has his way to think. He also talks about the teachers' low wage and the schools system of other countries like Finland.

This is the Prince Ea's YouTube video:

Prince Ea talks mainly about the American school system but the thing is that here, in Spain, the working of the education is the same. Throughout history, a lot of things from different aspects has changed, the way to communicate with people, the vehicles,... basically everything except the school system. Why we still holding on it when everything has changed?

Albert Einstein said once: 'Everybody is a genius, but if you judge a fish for its ability to climb the tree, it will live its whole live believing it is stupid.' I agree with this idea. As for the students, they are just like a fish. If they do not understand a lesson or they are not good at it, they are treated like a useless person. The truth is that each one of us has their special ability.

From my point of view, we are educated like robots. We have to work, to study and get good marks so that we can enter to a university and get a degree to have a good work with a good wage. But the thing is that life is not a fairytale and nothing makes us sure of anything of that. The education that we are receiving teachs us to be competitive and selfih.

Don't you ever asked yourself how can be possible that Spain is popular for its number of dropouts when it is one of the countries where the students work more in school and at home. I think that we should focus on what Finland is doing right, on the condition that the government wants to change the education system. If their interest has to do with having a lot of dropouts, then, our country is doing it right.

When it becomes to the teacher's wage, I have to say that it doesn't respond to what they do for the society. They have the responsability to prepare the youth. The youth are always the future of everything. As Prince Ea says, we may be the 20% of the population but we are the 100% of the future.

As a conclusion, I think that it is very difficult to reform, correctly, the education system. We can not change the current school system for the Finland's one in a couple of years, for example.

'ENSAYO SOBRE LA MIOPÍA' BY LEONARDO LAYANA

In this post, I will talk about Leonardo Layana's artwork. I know him about two years ago, when I saw some of his photographs on instagram. I found his artwork very interesting and curios, so that is why I wanted it to share it with you.

Leonardo Layana is an Argentinian profesional photographer who got famous for one of his works named 'Ensayo sobre la miopía'. This artwork recreats the vision of a short-sighted person. The objective of this work of art is to show to people how short-sighted people can see with clearly only with glasses.

I don't know nothing about photography. The only thing that I like about the world of photography is to see how a person with just a camera can capture things. I am impressed how Leonardo uses the photography to show what is the short-sightedness. I think that his photographs are very original and gains  a lot the public.

Don't you ever asked yourself how it feels being deaf, mute, blind... or in that case short-sighted? I think that we will never know (except for those who unfortunatly are). I am not short-sighted, but one of my siblings is. One day, we were watching a football match and he was not wearing the glasses. When he put the glasses he said: 'now I see more clearly everything'. Then, I asked him how he was seeing the match without the glasses. He answered me: 'I don't see the football players, the public or the lines of the field. I don't even see the scoreboard'. I was very shocked seeing how he could not see the tv correclty when the distance between him and the tv was not big.

Finally, from my point of view, I think that this is a good work of art. It is funny how Leonardo Layana uses the glasses in every photograph, separating the blurred view from the clear one. According to my sibling, the view of a short-sighted is like what a normal person sees in a video when the camera is not focused, just like in the photographs from 'Ensayo sobre la miopía' on the right.

WHY IS DEATH A TABOO TOPIC IN THE WESTERN CULTURE?

After we had lisening to David Bowie's last song, we had to think the reason why western culture is so afraid of death and why death is a taboo topic.

Personally, I think that death is a big rite of passage because you pass from one stage of life, where you are alive, to another which no one knows about it. It is the only rite of passage which everyone does but no one knows about it.

From my point of view, death is a taboo for the western culture because they are affraid from it, considering that nobody knows what is going to happen or where do we go once we are dead. Because of that, they rarely talk about death and they continue living life like there is not an end. They think that death is just like a virus and if they talk about it, it will spread.
In my opinion, I think that we do not have to be affraid of something that is going to happen anyway and we should not treat it like a taboo topic, because if we start to treat everything we are affraid for like that, we wouldn't be able to talk about anything.

REVIEW: STRANGER THINGS

In this post, I will make a review about a TV series which impressed me a lot, Stranger Things. This is a Netflix series and I knew about it because a lot of youtubers talked about Stranger Things. I wanted to see if it was really a good series as they were saying, that was why I watched the first season about two months ago.

As I said, Stranger Things is an original series from Netflix. The Duffer Brothers are the guionists and the directors of it. The first episode it was realised on the 15th July 2016. Since then, the tv series recieved a lot of good critiques.

The first season of Stranger Things is basically about the disappearing of a young boy. His mother and brother, Friends and the police chief must confront terrifying forces in order to get him back.
The boy's friends find a girl, Eleven, in the place where Will, the boy, was disappeared. She will help all of them to find Will and to understans what is really happening in Hawkins.

This is the trailer of the first season:

Stranger Things treates themes like science fiction and fantasy. In the first season of Stranger Things there are eight episodes. The rate of the plot is quite slow because they want to leave you with curiosity to know what is really happening and what is going to happen. The series is set in the eighties. Everything is from that age: the music, the cars, the bycicles, the clothes, etc. The guionists and the directors based this netflix series on works from Steven Spielberg, Stephen King and John Carpenter, between others.
The second season's premier will be on September 2017.

In my opinion the plot of the series is very good. When I saw the trailer I knew that I would love it. It is not my favourite tv series but I really like the idea of the tv series. I really like its atmosphere. Stranger Things is exciting, heartbreaking and sometimes terrifying. I recommend Stranger Things to anyone. When someone tells me what is it about, I only answer: 'Go and watch it'. I can not explain the plot of the series because I would make a lot of spoilers.
I had enjoyed each episode with so much enthusiasm and I can't wait for the second season's premier.

TEENS REACT TO ENCYCLOPEDIAS

Fine Brothers Entertainment is a YouTube channel with more tan fourteen milions of subscribers. It is well-known because of the contingut that makes. About a week ago, I say one video of them which, basically, it shows some teenagers' reaction to encyclopedias.

As you can see in the video, The Fine Bros (the owners of the YouTube cannel) gave an amount of books and they made them guess what type of books were. Some of them didn't know what they were, but there were some who knew exactly its uses. Most of them didn't use them nowadays, even though they said that when they were in school, they had to use them.

Right after, The Fine Bros made the teens to find a word. At the begining, they had a little bit of dificulties but then they quickly realised that the enciclopedia is organised in alphabetical order.
In the end, the teens were interviewed to know a little more about the encyclopedias.

The enciclopedias are dieing, but not now. Since the appreance of Internet and new technology, people started to have minimum a computer with internet. Little by Little, we started to forget about the dicctionaries and the encyclopedias in books and we replaced them with the diccionaries online or with other information sites.

I don't think it is our fault. In my opinion I think that having access to information about anything from internet has more advantatges than encyclopedias. As they said in the video, encyclopedias are created in a determinate time. Anything that happends after it creation, doesn't apear in it. They made a clear example with 'youtube'. It didn't appear in the encyclopedia because it was created after the book was published. However, in the internet you can find any kind of information upgraded.

But the internet also has disadvantatges. All the information that you find there can be true or fals. Considering that in the internet everyone can publish things, you never know if what you are reading is the truth or it is a lie. However, the information in the enciclopedia it is always true.

On the other hand, the encyclopedias are very expensive back then and nowadays. In my case, I wouldn't like to spend money on encyclopedias that year by year, for example, have to upgrade information. If it is like that, you would have to buy encyclopedias every year.
I still rememeber when we used to use encyclopedias in class when I was little. I remember that I spend a lot of time trying to find the words that I needed. Even though I really liked to find words in the diccionary or encyclopedia. Currently, I have quite a lot of diccionaries at home in different languages, but I don't use them. There are some which are even news and still wrapped up with the plastic of the shop.
Even if the books, in general, are so expensive, I prefer books before the online stuff, especially to read and to study.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES OF THE NOMINEES

These two years had been an incredible spectacle when it becomes to the United States' campaings for the 2016 election. The famous Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton were the principal candidates for presidency, besides from Bernie Sanders and others. The Americans had an important role in those election. They had to choose the right candidate to take up Obama's place. The best way to choose the right one is doing a Little bit of research about them and comparing there strenghts and weaknesses.

DONALD TRUMP
Weak Points:
  • Immigration:
Donald Trump wants to build a wall which will separate the USA from Mexico and he explain himself saying: 'We have no country without borders'. He also says that Americans are killed who came to the USA illegally and that they bring with them drugs to sell it and make money. He says exaclty this: We have some bad Hombres here and we are gonna make them out.
  • Women discrimination
The buisnessman has a dark past with horrorific discriminatory comments about women. He does not have any respect for women. An obvious example is when he was caught saying vulgar things about women with Billy Bush. He also humilated women such as Alicia Machado (the Miss Universe of 1996), when he called her an eating machine and the 'Miss Piggy'.
  • Climate change:
Trump doesn't take the climate change serious. He makes fun of it and he says that it is a chinease hoax. The climate change is very important to have it present everyday. If he will be the president, he must take responsability of that and make security mesure, just like Hillary Clinton would do it.

Strong points:
  • About the speeches:
I think that Donald Trump got more and more famous for the speeches that he made. When Trump makes a speech he says everything: his opinion, his points of view, what he wants to do and what he will do. That shows him the kind of person he is. I think that this is a strong point from him because people know who is he and what are his thoughts. However, Hillary Clinton does not say anything. In fact, in every speech she has made or in the debates with Trump, she focus on what Donald said and she doesn't give her opinion in some aspects. That makes me feel that what Hillary says and what she really thinks is not the same.
  • He knows how to win voters:
In my opinion, I think that Donald Trump knows how to win voters even if it seems quite the opposite. He knows what people think about the current situation in the world (the wars, the terrorism attacks, the refugiees, the immigration,...), so, he takes advantatges of that. He is racist because a lot of people in the USA is. So, he can use that to win people. On the other hand, his humor influences the opinion of the youth. I bet that a lot of young people could voted him because he looks cool and funny.

HILLARY CLINTON
Strong points:
  • Women’s rights and opportunity:
Hillary Clinton says that if she wins the election she will rease the mínimum of the women's wages. She will also fight for paid leave, then women would have to chose between keeping their Jobs and taking care of a sick family member. She adds that parents shouldn't have to go back to work right after they welcome a newborn baby. Clinton wants to confront violence against women, considering that there is a lot of women victims because of that.
  • Education system:
A good thing about Clinton is that she wants to reformate the United States' education system. Hillary Clinton said that as a president she will make preschool universal for every 4-year old in America. She will increase childs care investments so that the families would not have to pay more tan he 10 percent of its income to afford high-quality child care. She will also award scholarships of up to 1,5000 dollars per year to help students parents ans she will increase access to college campuses. She also says that every student should have the option to graduate from a public college or university in their state without taking on any debts.
  • LGBT rights and equality.
Hillary Clinton fights for full federal equality for LGBT American. She supports LGBT youth, parents and elders and she will protect transgender rights.
  • Climate change
About the climate change, Hillary said that if she becomes president of the United States of America, she will launch a 60 billion of dollars in Clean Energy Challenges to partner with states, cities and rural communities to cut carbón pollution and expand clean energy. She will also try to esure safety and responsability in energy production.

Weak points:
  • Emails scandal.
Everyone knows about the email scandal but not everyone gives the importance that this has. Why would Hillary use a personal email to work with top secret things? You only hide things if you want anybody to notify. Why would Hillary Clinton hide things if she is politically correct? This gide us to believe that Hillary and her political party have a lot to hide.
  • What she had voted for.
Hillary Clinton doesn't says what she really things about many aspects. She only says what we want to hear. If we describe her, she is not racist, she is a good person, she would never hurt someone, etc. But the thing is that she is not like that. Hillary seems to fight for womens rights but when it becomes to reality, she voted against abortion. She also voted yes for war in Iraq, for a 'barrier' in Mexico (which is the same as a wall), etc. In the following video, you will see the semblances between what Hillary says about immigration and what Donald Trump says.

  • The strategist politics that she hides.
The following video explains exactly what I mean:

In my opinion, It think that it is not right to build a 'wall' and seperate people from a country. But the think is, why we focus a lot on the fact that Donald Trump wants to build a wall and we don't give importance to the fact that Spain build a fence in Melilla, that Britain will start to build a huge wall in Calais, France, to stop the migrants trying to get onto trucks near the port or that Israel built a wall up to eight metres high in the West Bank.
Yes, Donald Trump is a racist and a bad person but this doesn't mean that everyone who is not Trump is good. The world is not just like a film: sometimes the bad caracter is not really the bad one.
Also, a good thing about Hillary Clinton is that she has the support of Barcak Obama, of course. They are from the same political party, remember?

JO COX MURDER TRIAL: ACCUSED THOMAS MAIR 'LOOKED UP KKK AND NAZIS BEFORE ATTACK'

Resultado de imagen de jo cox
The Labour MP, Jo Cox.
This news is from The Guardian newspaper and it's about the Jo Cox's killer, Thomas Mair. The news talks about the information that the court obtained after five months of Jo Cox murder in his trial, which took place on Monday.

The Labour MP was shot twice and stabbed about fifteen times causing her numerous wounds in her heart, lungs, abdomen and in her right arm. The murderer was shouting 'Britain first, this is for Britain, Britain will always come first' when he was just going to attack Cox.

These affimations from the witness who were in the crime scene lead the court to suppose the reason why Thomas Mair killed Jo Cox.
Considering that he killed her one week before the referendum on the united kingdom's membership of the european union was taken, the cause of the killing is influenced by the differences in the ideology of the murderer and the victim. Jo Cox was a supporter of the campaign for Britain to remain in the UE. She also was assosiated with charities like Oxfam, where she was always demanding for more help for the victims of the war in Syria, or Save The Children.

Mair is alleged to have accessed in diferents internet sites about Nazis, the Ku Klux Klan, the Waffen-SS, the death penalti in Japan, Israel, matricide and serial killers in the days before Cox was killed.

A shotgun that was presented in evidence during the trial of Thomas Mair.
A firearm that was presented in evidence
during the trial of Thomas Mair.

I still remember when Jo Cox was killed this summer. It was very shocking and unbelieveble. At the begining, I could not understand the reason why the murderer killed her. But, after I had thought about it in a couple of days, I came into an easy and simple conclusion, similar as the court's supposition.

June was not an easy month for British people. On the 23rd, they had to make an important decisión for their contry: they had to vote if they wanted Britain to remain in the UE or to leave. Many ministers were supporters of the campaign to remain in Britain, such as Jo Cox. She defended her thoughts about that issue and she fought a lot to make the Britain's population see what was the right choice - remain in the UE -. Even though, there were people, like Thomas Mair, who did not respect other opinions, in that case Cox's opinion, and they wanted to show there disagreement by violence.
The Labour MP was doing a lot of campaigns and that annoyed Mair. So, he wanted to take revenge on her by killing her. What an useless way to show his anger.

The way that the media and people (including me) in general call Thomas Mair is curious. We call him a murderer who comited a crime. Up to here everything is normal. But if we think a little bit more, if the person who killed the minister was, for example, muslim, we would not call him "the murderer" or "the killer". We would call him "the terrorist", "the radical muslim", "the jihadist",... and we would say that he comited a terrorist attack and that he did not respect the freedom of expression or thought of the minister.

Otherwise, it is interesting how people were not afraid for Thomas Mair's researches. Searching information about nazis, Ku Klux Klan, the Waffen-SS,... is normal, you know (ironically). It is crazy how we treat this action normal.
On the other hand, I bet that there is a lot of people who didn't even know that Jo Cox was killed. Once again, people only focus on there own interests. I do not blame them for that; we living in a world were the media is very controlled.

LILY ALLEN APOLOGISES 'ON BEHALF OF BRITAIN' AFTER VISITING UNACCOMPANIED CHILDREN IN CALAIS

About a week ago, I read this news from the Huffington post newspaper. It talks about the Lily Allen's visit in the refugee camp in France, Calais,  with charity Help Refugees, after the France government decided to take it down. She went with some BBC's reporters to film a short documentary. The singer interviewed a teenage Afghan boy.
She asked him about his situation and what took him into it. He explained that his father sold land to finance his departure from Afghanistan because of the bad situation there. Allen, tearfully, apologised in the name of Britain, the bad situation that her country put the Afghan population into. She exactly said: 'Bombed your country, put you in the hands of the Taliban and now we’re putting you at risk, risking your life to get into our country. I apologise on behalf of my country. I’m sorry for what we’ve put you through.'

The afghan boy told to the singer that he has the right to go to Britain, considering that there there's his father.

On the other hand, others celebrities like Lily Allen disapproved the Britian's role in the refugee crisis in France, such as Carey Mulligan. The actress said that she was ashamed to be British after the UK's "inaction" in this issue.

Finally, the news explains that according to the UN refugee Agency, there is about 21.3 million refugees, 3.2 million asylum seekers and 40.8 million migrants. It also revealed that about 88,000 refugee children are estimated to be stuck in Europe without their parents and many of them have faced violence, police brutality and even jail.

This video shows a part of the documentary filmmed in Calais.

Personally, I think that this is an important issue that all of us we have to be aware of. First of all, I could like to say that every fact has its own causes and consequences, and the situation in Afghanistan (the same as others Western Asia countries) is just a fact created by a succession of earlier causes. We could say that the US's and its alliances occupation of Afghanistan favoured a lot the current civil war there. As always, the US's and its alliances occupates territories and provocates a lot of instabilities in those territories just because of their own interests, specially in the Middle East. The higher amount of energy resources, the strategic ubication of the countries there, between other facts, leads them to have the desire of taking the control of those regions. Then, after they have finished using all the advantage of those states, they leave them in a bad situation, as Lily Allen said 'Bombed your country, put you in hands of the Taliban...'

For me it is funny (ironically) the continually complaints of some government about the high number of refugees in Europe. They are complaining about a consequence of a fact caused by them a long time ago. That is why I think that the governments have to take responsability of what they have created indirectly.

Finally, I recognise that it is obvious the alert level of instability or collapse in the country. The massive crush of refugees could bring diferent types of crisis or other results. But I think that it is not an excuse to act, at least, as a humanity that we supposedly are.

PROTEST SONG

After I had listened some of the protests songs suggested by our English teacher, I chose the Tracy's Chapman song, called 'Talkin' 'bout revolution'. The song was released on 1988 and its part of her debut album, Tracy Chapman

This is the lyrics of the song:
Don't you know
They're talkin' bout a revolution

It sounds like a whisper

Don't you konw

They're talkin' bout a revolution

It sounds like a whisper

While they're standing in the welfare lines
Crying at the doorsteps of those armies of salvation
Wasting time in the unemplotment lines
Sitting around waitinf for a promotion

Don't you know
They're talkin' bout a revolution

It sounds like a whisper

Don't you konw

They're talkin' bout a revolution

It sounds like a whisper

Poor people gonna rise up
And get their share
Poor people gonna rise up
And take what's theirs

Don't you know
You better run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run
Oh I said you better run, run
Run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run

It's finally the tables are starting to turn
Talkin' bout a revolution
It's finally the tables are starting to turn
Talkin' bout a revolution oh no
Talkin' bout a revolution oh

While they're standing in the welfare lines
Crying at the doorsteps of those armies of salvation
Wasting time in the unemplotment lines
Sitting around waitinf for a promotion

Don't you know
They're talkin' bout a revolution

It sounds like a whisper

Anf finally the tables are starting to turn

Talkin' bout a revolution

It's finally the tables are starting to turn
Talkin' bout a revolution oh no
Talkin' bout a revolution oh no
Talkin' bout a revolution oh no

Going in depth with the song, in the first paragraph, I think that the singer-songwriter when she says 'Don't you know, They're talkin' 'bout a revolution', she is refering to what the people wants and talk about.

In the second paragraph, the author talks about what people do when they are in a bad living situation. She says that they wasting their time waiting for government assistance, welfares, and better jobs or even job, considering that she says: 'Wasting time in the unemployment lines, sitting around waiting for a promotion.'

Finally, Tracy Chapman says that the poor people will rise up and that is why the goverment better run. And then, she sings 'finally the tables are starting to turn' refering to the beginning of a revolution.

In my opinion, even if this song is a little bit short and it is formed practically by three paragraphs (taking into consideration the paragraphs replay that she does), the song defends clearly the idea of revolution against the corrupt governments and the economical system. I can say that the song brought or could had brought a lot of polemic considering that by the lyrics of the song, she led us to believe that she had (or has) some Marxism feeling because of the indirectly criticism she does about the economic sistem that controls the majoritary of the states.

BYE BYE ESO

I can not believe that this school year is about to finish. The time has passed so quickly that I have not even realesed that it is the last year of ESO and there will be a lot of changes.

I still remember the first day of school. When I joined the class, 2nd B, I was shocked and very surprised. My first impression of my classmates was that they were all very crazy. But, little by little, I got to know them and to become friends.

The lasts three years have been incredible. I enjoyed every minute of every year, even though, there has been some stressful moments. I could not imagine those years without all the laughes we had and all the adventures we had lived. All those funny and good times have been incredible for me

As I said, this school year is about to finish. I think that next year will be different. A lot of people will leave the high school and It will not be the same. However, I will stay, studying "batxillerat". I hope that next year the subjects' work will not take away the good moments and make an unforgettable year, in the negative way.

CHRISTOPHER'S NOLAN FILMS

Christopher Nolan is was born on July 30th in 1970. He is an English film director and producer. He is also a screenwriter, which makes him perfect in the cinemarography world. Christopher is well-known for the great films that he has done during his career. He is characterised for making some of his movies very philosophical and ethical. He plays with the espectador's moral and mind. He also plays with concepts like the time and the memories. He uses different techniques to develop up the plot of the film,  such as the nonlinear storytelling.

Two months ago, my friends and I decided to watch one of his famous films, Inception. It is about a man called Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) who makes a deal with a Japanese businessman. The deal consists of implanting an idea in a person's subconscious using technology which allows to infiltrate important information through a shared dream world. The japanese's enemy is Mr.Fisher. So, Dom has to convice Fischer's son to dissolve his father's company and in return he will be clear of a murder charge and his children will return home. During the film, he and his team uses the "inception" technique to be in someone's dream world to make their jobs. Cobb makes spinnig around an amulet to know when he is in a dream. If it stops means that he is not dreaming.

This is the trailer of the film:

Another film that we saw is Memento. It is about a man called Leo who is an investigator of a security agency. His memory is damaged because he hit his head when he was trying to avoid his wife's murder. That problem caused him memory loss constantly. His memories desappears from his mind for a few minutes. So, to investigate his wife's murder and take revenge of the murderer, he takes photos of every clue that he finds and he gets tattoos of every key notes which will guide him to the killer.

This is the trailer of the film:

Finally, we saw The Prestige. It is a film about two famous illusionists, Robert Angier (Hugh Jackman) and Alfred Borden (Christian Bale) who are competitive between each other. Even though they admired each other at the beginning, as long as someone does an awesome trick, the other one wants to do a better trick and vice versa, until they hate each other. Finally, Alfred Borden made a good knack that made Robert very jealous, because he did not know how he has done it. So, he will do all the best to know it until he finds another trick better than the Alfred's ones (using technology).

This is the trailer of the film:

I have really enjoyed watching these movies. They are extremely good. I do not know how Christopher invents plots like these ones. All the three films are very confusing and you do not know what is really happening until the lasts minutes of the movie. I think that this kind of movies blows you mind because you think too much about it. I do not wanted to explain the final part of the films because I would make spoilers.
I want to watch more Christopher's films like Interstellar or Insomnia.

ITALY BEST PICTURE

Two months ago, I went to Italy for a school trip for six days. We flew by the airplane to Pisa on March 29th. And after visiting Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca and Rome, on April 3nd we came back to Spain by a Gimaldi Lines' cruise.

The best picture of Italy for me is this one:

I took this picture in Florence. We went to visit the Florence Cathedral, known as Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore in Italian. I took the picture from the top of the Brunelleschi's cupola.

The picture shows basically the views of the city. In the left your left you can see the Giotto's Bell Tower. This tower is part of the Florence Cathedral. In my opinion, it is very beautiful and lovely. I read that it attains a height of 84,7m. and it dividies in five levels.

The decoration is perfect. The tower is covered by green, white and gold colours. It has long open windows. You can climb the tower, but we did not.

In the middle of the foreground, you can see the big roof of the cathedral and in front of it there's the Cathedral square.

Moving to the right, you can see the houses'  red roofs, which are very typical there. In the background there are also a lot of houses' roofs and far away you can see a little natural elevation were there's a forest.

I still remember the day we climbed to the top of the dome. To enter to the Cathedral we waited on line for an hour and we also climbed too many stairs, but even so, it was very worth it. The day was perfect even though the weather it was not.

UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE

UNESCO is an international organization leaded by the United Nations. The principal objective of this organization is to contribute peace and security between every state through the education, the science and the culture. That is why they make different projects to join together the countries, such as the World Heritage Site. The organization lists different places of the world that is special for cultural or national reasons or, that has an important significance.

A few weeks ago, in the English class we had to choose a place which is selected by UNESCO where we would like to go. It was hard to choose only one place. There were a lot of  countries that I would love to go. But, finally I chose Croatia.

Croatia is such a beautiful state. Cities like Porec, Split or Pula are protected by UNESCO. Those cities are concidered cultural patrimony.

But, the reason why I chose Croatia was for the Plitvice Lakes National Park. It is one of the oldest national park in Europe and the largest national park in Croatia. In 1979, it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage register. The national park is situated in Lika-Senj Country, even so there is a little part in Karlovac Country.

The lakes' water are brought by different tributaries. The water flows over the limestone and chalk creating little natural waterfalls which have created a series of beautiful lakes and caves. The lakes have been there for a long time ago and nowadays, these geological place continues getting better.

The weather there is typical of the country. The precipitation is plentiful in Autumn and Spring. In December and January, the lakes freeze. A curious fact about the water is that the temperature of the water of the lakes on the top is lower than ten degrees, meanwhile the temperature of the water of the subterranean lakes is about forty-five degrees.

There are a lot of different kinds of plants and trees. The various vegetation makes the natural zone look more atractive for the colors that the leaves of the plants and trees get as the season changes. The dense forests in the park are home to different types of animals, such as bears, wolves and many rare bird and fish species.

In the following picture, you can see the thin bridge that connects one side with an other one.

LOVE SONG

"If you ever want to be in love" by James Bay

Saw you today after so much time
Felt just like it used to be
Talking for hours 'bout a different life
Surrounded us in memories
We were close never close enough
Where are we now
Cause if it's torn we can stitch it up
Don't rule it out
Oh no no

I'll come around
If you ever want to be in love
I'm not waiting but I'm willing if you call me up
If you ever want to be in love
I'll come around

Wanted to ask if we could have been

But my tongue wouldn't break the seal
You always had something effortless
At school you were the biggest deal
Little quirks close and open up
Time is slipping by
Always thinking 'bout the two of us
Replay on my mind
Always playing on my mind

This song is sung by James Bay. He is a British singer, songwriter and guitarist who is well-known for his last album, Chaos and the Calm. In this song, James talks about his feelings for a girl who apperantly does not feel the same, or, about a girl who is too good for him (that is why in the song he says: "at school you were the biggest deal"). Much of the story is expressed in understatement, as in ‘don’t rule it out’ and ‘I’m not waiting, but I’m willing …’ as if he still can’t bring himself to declare his love clearly and fully.

I really like this artist. All of his songs are amazing and good. He has done other love songs such as Need the sun to break, and break up songs, like the song Let it go.

SADIQ KHAN INVITES TO HIS HOME "THE IGNORANT" DONALD TRUMP TO SHOW HIM ABOUT ISLAM

About a week ago, I read this news from the Huffington post newspaper. This news is about the opinion of the new mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, about the offer of Donald Trump of banning the entrance of muslims in the United States.

The news says that in an interview made by the Tv programme Good Morning Britain, Khan says that before the elections Trump wished him luck and said that the ban would be exceptional for him. Even though, he thinks that he is not exceptional because everyone are equal. He questions himself what about
all the muslims businesswomen and businessmen who want to make business in the US, all the muslims students from their country who want to study in the US or the muslims who want to travel to America.

Khan secures that with his election victory proves that it is totally compatible beeing muslim and having western values. He thinks that Trump's thoughts are extremists and that his opinion is based on the ignorance.

The interviewer asked Khan if he would take Donald Trump to a mosque in London. Sadiq answered that he would take him in the center of the capital and he would invite him to meet the Leicester City football player, Riyad Mahrez, who recived the award of the best player of the year (PFA award), Nadiya Hussain, the best baker in England and even Zayn Malik.
With all of those strong affirmations, Sadiq wants to show basically to the world that muslims give a lot of benefits in almost every field.

Finally, he says that the great thing about England is that there are different religions and cultures that can live together.

This is a video where we can lisen the interview to Sadiq Khan made by the Huffington post UK newspaper (first six minutes):

I am totally agree what the London's mayor says. In my opinion, Sadiq defended very good the Islam. I think that the world is full of people who shares the same ideology as Donald Trump, as always. It is a pity to see the unsuccessful  progress of the human's mindset throughout history.

YOUTUBERS

I have started to watch youtube videos for a long time ago. It was my sister who showed me some youtubers, especially British youtubers.
Nowadays, I could say that I watch different types of youtubers, from the most adventurous ones to the most glamourus.

Will Darbyshire
One of my favourites youtubers at the moment is Will Darbyshire. He is from London, England. He is a social media phenomenon and a filmmaker who uploads videos to his youtube channel, willdarbyshirefilm. He has filmed videos for youtube since 2014 and he has accumulated over 600.000 subscribers. Apart from filmming and editing their own videos, he also made short films. Some of them are titled The Lizardman, Space, The Popup, and Garden Sale.
I really like his videos. The theme of each video are unique, for not talking about the way that he films and edits the videos. He talks about thing of life, such as fears, love, depression, stress, the happiness, the memories, and many others. On the other hand, he films a lot when he travels. For example, when he went to Asia, France or to the different states of America.
It is kind of hard to chose my favourite video of him. I could say that the last video that he uploaded, titled "Surviving Exams & Growing Up", made me think a lot about the exams that I am taking. Honestly, it made me realesed that we do not have to stressed out about it.

When it becomes to adventurous youtubers, I watch Casey Neistat.
Casey is an American filmmaker, producer and director known for the videos that he uploads on his youtube channel, CaseyNeistat, and for the HBO series The Neistat Brothers. Nowadays, he is a daily vlogger. He vlogs every day of his life showing what he is up to. He travels a lot and makes different kind of sports and he participates in different atlethic events. I really enjoy watching his videos. His videos are funny and entertaining.
Others youtuber travelers that I like to watch are the British Louis Cole (FunForLouis) and Jack Harris (Jacksgap), even though, the last one does not uploded a video for a month.

The lasts ones but not leasts are the hilarious and pranskters youtubers, such as Joe Sugg or Caspar Lee.
Joe is a british youtuber, filmmaker and author. He runs three youtube channels: ThatcherJoe, ThatcherJoeVlogs and ThatcherJoeGames. On his main channel he has almost achieved seven thousand subscribers. Most of the videos that he uploads consist of challenges, pranks and impressions. He knows how to do a good prank to his friends. When it comes to impressions, he is amazing. He can imitate any character or person. In 2015, Joe published a graphic novel, Username: Evie. In the same year, his film with Caspar Lee was released. The film was called Joe and Caspar: Hit the Road, where they traveled Eurpean countries to work and earn money to spend it into holidays.
Caspar Lee (on the left) and Joe Sugg (on the right).

Joe is also well-known for beeing Zoe's brother. Zoe, known on youtube as Zoella, is a blogger and youtuber. I also watch her videos and I really enjoy them.

Finally, Caspar Lee is another british youtuber that I watch. Even though he was born in England, he considers himself South-american because his family is from there and he lived there for many years. His youtube video contents are similar of the Joe's ones but more short. He made an uncredited cameo voiceover along with Joe in the 2015 UK version of the film The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water.
